The people who make it work

A family-led community shaped by local knowledge, practical contribution, and the pleasure of learning together.

Artist’s vision

Continuity

A small paid team caring for the everyday essentials.

Contribution

Volunteers and collaborators bringing fresh energy.

Connection

Shared meals, learning, and relationships with our neighbors.

A shared purpose, with room to be yourself

BuenaVida brings together people drawn to growing food, caring for a place, and learning by doing. Family life, practical contribution, and time together are at its heart.

People make the place

We are building relationships with local growers, makers, practitioners, and people who enjoy turning ideas into useful work.

Crew / Shared work

One task, two people, no lost handoff.

The demo bed needs mulch and a follow-up. Saying “someone should check it” leaves the work without an owner.

In SoilJournalAna and Luis share the farm workspace. Ana takes the mulch task; Luis takes the follow-up, both linked to Bed 01.

What happenedThe action and the follow-up are both accounted for. The journal shows what changed after the work, not just a checked box.

The next stepUse the harvest review to agree who will prepare and observe the next trial bed.

Learning through contribution

Volunteer stays are planned as the cabins and communal kitchen become ready. There are already ways to contribute through growing expertise, design, software, and local connections.

A rhythm with room to breathe

Useful work, shared meals, movement, and personal time. We want everyday life to feel grounded, generous, and open to discovery.

Rooted in the neighborhood

Local knowledge will shape what we grow and build. We welcome Costa Rican collaborators and long-term relationships with the people around us.
